    1. Since this book was written in the first half of the 20th century, lots of discoveries after this are missing and it needs to be updated The book just gives you an idea of historical events happened in South India chronologically and I find it sometimes boring to read.

    2. A very important introductory book about South India Though the first 7 chapters details about the kingdoms and the wars happened in between them the rest of the book concentrates on the social history The coverage about Sanga age was very informative If you want to start reading about South India start with this book.

    3. Loads of info good book as a ref textbook for students.I am not a student and picked up this book for general know how and i really enjoyed reading the book 3 star mainly because it s written for and as a text book
