    1. I am an avid lover of The Lord Of The Rings and really enjoyed reading all these behind the scenes interviews about making the trilogy This only took me so long to read because the size of the book made it impossible to carry with me anywhere and so other novels took precedent However, when I did remember to pick it up I loved the detail and background information of this book, focusing on the filming of the trilogy rather than just talking to the actors as several books of this kind have a tend [...]

    2. Insightful and informative, but nothing to write home about. Most of the pictures and stories in here can be found in the documentaries on the extended editions of the movies, so I felt I might as well just watch those And frankly the writing was rather choppy and half hazard He switches between subjects without ever really finishing his exploration of one idea For instance, Sibley starts off talking about digital effects, and you feel like he s going to get into the details when suddenly he s on [...]

    3. The Lord of the Rings The Making of the Movie Trilogy Brian SiblyI much enjoyed watching the three LOTR films as they were released to the cinema in turn 2002, 2002, 2003 I didn t chance across Mr Sibly s Collectors Edition book until now 2016 I struggled through four fifths of the text pictures, but ultimately just couldn t stomach the utter self righteousness arrogant puff of it all So very, very, unlike Professor Tolkien s brilliantly imaginative writing The marketing spin on Mr Sibly s book [...]

    4. The Lord of the Rings The Making of the Movie Trilogy is like a wonderfully large colorful journal of what it was like working on the set of this magnificent trilogy for those many, many months With a foreword by Ian McKellen, a.k.a Gandalf, author Brian Sibley does an excellent job of keeping the reader locked in with the many different happenings that took place during the shooting of the trilogy With some wonderful color photos of cast and sets, as well as illustrations and drawings, there is [...]

    5. This is a brilliant companion guide to have if you are a fan of Lord ofthe Rings as it includes some inside secrets and describes how they did some of the effects and their first premiere This book does have a lot of reading in it and if you are looking for a guide that is like Harry Potter Film Wizardry then this book isn t for you The book is for adults but it can be enjoyed by any Lord of the Rings fan.

    6. Good overview of the making of the trilogy Sibley is the man behind the BBC radio version of LOTR, so it was quite nice to read this.

    7. I fell in love with the Lord of the Rings movies at the ripe old age of 11 It wasn t typical for a middle schooler to sing elvish on the bus to school, but lo and behold that never stopped me This book was a Bible to me I read it over and over again until the spine gave way and then I bought myself another copy that I was slightly careful with The artistry, skill, and talent that went into making these movies was unprecedented and this book gives wonderful incite into each facet of it I particu [...]

    8. A book which provides a lot of background information for the making of the Lord Of The Rings, mostly the work done by the WETA workshop It s wonderful to read about all this background work, it just drives home what a big undertaking the making of these movies actually was especially if you consider that so many of the people involved didn t have an awful lot of experience The love and the passion for the project can be lifted from the pages and it makes a wonderful and interesting read However [...]

    9. A nice insight into the making of the Lord of the Rings Quite an interesting read I enjoyed it, but I have a couple of criticisms but they re pretty small It would have been nice to hear a little from the actors but I understand why there weren t really featured the main emphasis is the staggering amount of work that all the crew put in It also focuses almost entirely on the first movie, there might be sequels, if so I d like to read them Good for anyone with a keen interest of Lord of the Ring [...]

    10. Mr, Sibley brings his considerable lore master skills as a writer to this nice coffee table book about the making of the Peter Jackson lotr films its amazing also loaded with great pictures The author has been a fan of middle earth since the early days of the book and is an uberfan and king of geeks as well as an incredible writer, who incidentally penned the radio scripts for bbc s mid 80s version of the lotr with ian holmes the book includes lots of interviews with crew and cast, i especially [...]

    11. A brilliant and detailed biography of the LOTR films themselves following the author through the various sets and workshops behind the scenes becomes a wholly immersive trip into the making of Middle Earth itself Perfect read for fans who like reading about the ins and outs of creating a truly iconic series of films Also, I now have a newfound appreciation for Viggo Mortensen as a professional actor.

    16. Lots of behind the scenes information on the making of the movies However, a lot of it focused on the work at Weta, which has been covered by many of the other movie tie in books It would have been interesting to read about the filming process.

    17. This was quite an interesting book, which went into a fair amount of detail about the making of the LOTR trilogy I always find things like this interesting anyway, so I appreciated the insight I did think there was an overabundance of exclamation marks throughout the book, though.
