    1. Usually Max and Ruby books are really good and well written, however, this one just didn t seem to me to have a storyline The author could have written a clean up book much better than this especially since Ruby was doing all the cleaning and Max put everything in his pocket Granted Max always seems to get into mischief but this book kind of took it to the top Not one of my favorites.

    5. I was not a big fan of this storybook, but I did enjoy all of the illustrations that were included As Ruby helps her younger brother, Max, clean his very messy room, he begins to put things in his pockets so his sister does not put it away or throw it away After she finishes cleaning his room, she asks him what he has in his pocket, and everything he had hidden including gum on a string, dirt and rocks, and a melted popsicle burst out of his overly full pocket As the items he places in his pocke [...]

    6. CIP Max s big sister Ruby is determined to help him clean up his messy room, but he keeps rescuing things that she wants to throw away Claudia Lots of fun for preschoolers to watch in awe and glee as Max puts everything i into his pockets from sand to bubbles to ants to a melting popsicle and while his older sister Ruby finds her satisfaction in creating some lovely order The illustrations, which include three dimensional materials collaged onto the colorful, largely two dimensional drawings, a [...]

    7. When Max cleans up, as when Max does everything in his cute series of books by Rosemary Wells, things don t end up quite as his big sister Ruby expects My son loved Max s somewhat innocent approach to wreaking havoc As Max stuffs everything he wants to save from the rubbish bin into his overalls pocket, kids can relate My young children have been afraid that cleaning things up will somehow make them disappear forever, and the book initiates good conversations about what cleaning up is and isn t, [...]

We watch Max and Ruby a lot so we were familiar with this story when it was read at story time today This isn t my favorite episode story I guess dirty grossness is part of having a little boy, but I don t like how Max gets away with it ruining all of Ruby s work This is also one of those times when it bothers me that there are no parents in the Max and Ruby stories Cleaning up this mess shouldn t be Ruby s job

    10. This is not a book with fireworks It s not deep It s not the best book ever But it s about Max cleaning up his room NOT That being said, Max does something I remember doing as a child he puts all the dirty, sticky, melty stuff into his pocket not realizing what that will create and there s something real in that that I like a lot Also the dirt and sticky stuff in the pictures is done with photos of the real thing.
