    1. f there s anyone out there who want to only focus on the Qur an, and disregard Hadith Sunnah, then s he is in fact contradict himself because the Qur an mentioned a few times to follow and emulate what the Prophet thought The hadith from books that we read have gone through numerous filtrations, scrutiny and check and balance They have become a part of our life that link us to the Prophet and his companions The book, albeit seems daunting at first, is actually presented in a light and easy manne [...]

    3. I had to read this book for school and I m really glad I did It s a short but concise read on Hadith studies It quickly discusses a lot of terminology in easy to understand terms and serves as an excellent point for reference in the future I also enjoyed the mini biographies of the major Hadith compilers and some of the ones I had only heard in passing like I had previously not known much about Ibn Majah honestly Great read

    4. This book is a good attempt at explaining how the system of hadith works for beginners But I found it lacking in explaining some areas that left me confused Some of the language could be simplified As this work is quite old, it is expected that recent arguments against hadith are not addressed Perhaps they have been addressed in Usool al Hadeeth by Bilal Philips, which I shall read soon iA.

    5. Quite summarized, better to read Studies in Early Hadith Literature by the same author but he introduces main hadith books well in this one by shortly describing the methodology of the Muhadditheen and the difference between main six hadith collections.

    6. Wonderful book which gives to the reader an understanding of hadith methodology and its preservation Written in an appealing and intellectual mannerry well researchedAn awesome read for anyone curious to know about hadith literature

    7. Probably not as necessary a read any given the publication of other thorough and precise works but certainly an easy, brief, and concise introduction to the science of Hadith by one the foremost Muslim Hadith authorities in the West.

    8. Definitely an interesting book to have on the science of Hadith A good read and I suggest you buy a personal copy because you may want to refer to it again and again.
