    1. The recipes that I ve tried from this book are fantastic I especially like her candied ginger scones and the other recipes included in her quick breads chapter However, this is far from a book for novice bakers Even for the advanced, this book has recipes to tax one s best abilities Many of these recipes span multiple pages and call for slightly expensive and exotic ingredients such as candied ginger, high quality chocolate and large quantities of nuts Ultimately, an excellent cookbook but not [...]

    2. I do not doubt that Nancy Silverton is a pastry force, but the problem with her recipes is that they read needlessly complicated which doesn t make me want to try them And the ones I have tried, I have been less than impressed by Her writing also doesn t come from any sort of humble place, and it s very obvious she is very proud of the place she has made in the culinary world.

    3. This is good, but the recipes are not as sweet as I really like and a little denser than is my preference so I do not use it much
