    1. A few months ago, I reviewed Sloane Kennedy s Atonement, the sixth book in The Protectors series I gave the book 4 stars, calling it my guilty pleasure Kennedy was not happy with my 4 star review she posted a long rant about it on Facebook, and her fangirls joined in, calling me stupid and a hater Talk about an author behaving badly At that point I vowed to stop reading Kennedy s books, and I held true until this book came along I only mention my complicated relationship with this author becaus [...]

    2. Nolan and Dallas broke my heart They were both so precious It was such a sweet story with two very sweet men that were so unhappy with their lives but they deserved so much happiness Nolan was this geeky guy that was bullied in school and had no friends He earned a spot in Julliard and travelled the world playing in symphonies Some very unfortunate events happen and sends him back to Pelican Bay The one place he never wanted to go back to The people in this small community are very religious, go [...]

    3. I appear to be in the minority with this one I quit reading the Protectors series, but I thought I would give this new series a try It was pretty well liked by most of my GRs friends Call me heartless but Nolan cried waaaaaaaay too much Pretty much the whole book And I think I was supposed to be sad for him Or depressed But I just wasn t I think I felt sorry for Dallas This one just never grabbed me I just wasn t invested As I neared the halfway point I wanted to skim and by 70% I was skimming [...]

    4. I have a great love for all things written by Sloane Kennedy So when I found out that she was working on a new series, I was very curious about which direction this would go.This book is much different, than any of the others in the Protection and the Finding series It was emotional though not too angsty It made me angry, but not with the MC s I would really qualify this one, as a hurt comfort book, but also as a second chance one.Nolan and Dallas both grew up in the small town Pelican Bay Nolan [...]

    5. The first 50% was so depressing that I thought about putting this book aside But then all of a sudden things were improving and I ended up really enjoying it.Nolan was severely bullied as a kid Being a small gay boy in a small town full of bigots was not helpful him in blending in the background And that s why Nolan feels awful now that he s 28 years old and forced to return But since he feels obligated to help out his mom after his dad had a stroke, there s nothing he can do about his feelings. [...]

    6. 3.5 stars for the first instalment of a new series written by one of my favorite authors. No vigilante nor action here there s a quiet quality in this romance, nicely mixed with endearing characters finding each other, hearing each other and blossoming together.Nolan is a very kind man and has a real talent in playing the violin But that kindness and his avoidance for confrontations made him an ideal target for bullies when he was a kid in a small town in Minnesota and for abusers later on, leadi [...]

    7. what a lovely couple Dallas and Nolan both were locked in silence in their own way.Nolan s had his downs while in high school and the high s when he left 10yrs later yet another low, when his mentor accused him of stealing.Dallas had is high with baseball and his low after a tragic accident that lost his parents and his one way ticket out Ten years later and Nolan re entered Dallas s life and somehow they both heard each other through the silence. This book was full of emotion, love and a bit of [...]

    8. This was so different than the normal SK books I thought yes that little word there thought was the problem LOL I am not a big believer when it comes to blurbs I don t read them so this was a little bit of a BIG surprise when I started this book and there were no linking it to any of her other books This was a good new start I fell in love with these new characters and I can already see all the new books like lets say Mad would be a good way to go for a second book Very interesting character tha [...]

    9. LOCKED IN A TOWN WITH A BUNCH OF IDIOTS3.5 I am both in love and hate with this book My very first time reading this author, and I have to say it won t be my last The story really was entertaining and I found my self not being able to put it down While I really liked it, I still got a few issues Nolan left his backwards small town behind and became a talented sought after violinist He s lived an incredible life for the past 10yrs, being in the spotlight and being someone that matters But trustin [...]

    10. OMG All the feels I m not going to sit here and tell you the whole storyI m not even going to hint at what happensbut I will tell you how this story made me feel You know when you read something and it leaves you feeling a little raw That was this story I will admit I do have a little something for men who could be called damaged , so this story was right up my street It was heart wrenching and sweet and a little sexy okay a lot sexy and and andl the feels There were times when I was smiling rig [...]

    11. This was surprisingly GOOD Look I m not shading Sloane but we all know what she writes, ok but this was different and it was good different I was honestly so happy with this one the characters, the story everything just worked She wrote a full length novel were one of the characters doesn t speak one single word and it was brilliant I didn t miss the connection, I still felt like a got to know the character My only complaint here is the fact that only uses his phone to communicate via notes I m [...]

    12. Yet another series by Sloane Kennedy that I m sure to get addicted too After the last book read, I was really looking to find a fluffy read, but this book kept popping up I just couldn t resist. This is not a fluffy read Parts of it is pretty heart wrenching, but I found the comfort side of the story very satisfying.

    13. 4.5 StarsDallas Kent was forced to live a life in SilenceNolan Grainger could talk but nobody heard himA shared past that both men never wantedA chance encounter that changes their lives forever.

    14. Lots of feels in this gorgeous romanceSloane Kennedy sure knows how to write stories that creep up on you and wrap sneaky little arms around you waiting for the moment you need them to hand you a tissue. She s also brilliant at creating characters who have been bowed but never completely broken and then pairing them with a partner who is perfect at shoring up all those vulnerabilities and giving them a HEA which is both true to their narrative and believable. This is book one in a new series which [...]

    15. I really like this book and both MCs The story was good and the characters well developed The villains were a little over the top, but the story was enjoyable. The sexy scenes were ok and I loved the introduction of other characters that will, for sure, appear in the next books of this series I m looking forward to Maddox and Issac s story Free with Kindle Unlimited

    16. this was pretty sweet, and unexpected i think the reason i ve been so into MM romance this year is the wide variety of experiences to choose from sometimes i get two normal joes, sometimes i get two crazy alpha males, and sometimes just sometimes, i get some mufuckin vulnerability i really did like the pairing in this and the disability rep nolan was so sweet and such a sweet cinnamon roll his emotions and motivations made a lot of sense to me and i loved his connection with dallas and dallas, u [...]

    17. First of all, I have a confession to make I ve never read any of this author s other books hiding from fangirls boys Shocking, I know Her other books are some of the popular books in the genre, but for some reason they didn t attract me that much This book though, this book s blurb caught my attention, and after reading some great reviews for it, I was likeThis book tells the story of Nolan and Dallas, two men who grew up in a small town, but couldn t be any different from each other Nolan was [...]

    18. Loved it It was a bit sugary but it was done in a pretty tasteful way so it wasn t OTT Dallas story about killed me, I honestly don t think I could have been so accepting of it all Come to think of it, I feel the same way about Nolan s story Either way these are two pretty strong characters and despite their sad stories, they don t let it overwhelm their lives Definitely recommend

    19. I loved this a non stop read for me This was the story of Nolan Dallas, both men wronged, shunned and damaged who found their way back to each other after ten years and this time got it right There was so much I liked about this, an interesting storyline and a beautiful message of forgiveness Of course there was high level angst and at times both Nolan Dallas bordered on martyrdom for allowing others to shit can or destroy them with harmful gossip, but this was all to highlight the compassionate [...]

    20. 4.5 stars from me I knew I wanted, needed to read this one as soon as Sloane posted the blurb, but I didn t expect all the feels I have to admit, and there were tears for these two men tooI was a blubbering mess when I d finished There were lots of things to like in this story, especially Loki the wolf dog and that mad zebra The town of Pelican Bay was not a nice place to live unless you were a gossip, opinionated, religious and liked a side of lying with your local law enforcement, Godat sherif [...]

    21. As someone who grew up in a small town in MN and who was definitely not popular, this book struck than one right note with me Especially because I also escaped to CA after college After a kind of slow start, and having a hard time warming up to Nolan, Dallas appears to win my heart And way to go with the porn name Former golden boy turned pariah, Dallas initially drives the hurt comfort other than Nolan s high school memories which are of bullying and outcast part it s not angsty between the MC [...]

    22. I love Sloane s writing and have a been reader of her books since picking up Loving Vin , so I was really excited to start this brand new series It s set in Pelican Bay, Minnesota and follows Nolan Grainger, talented violinist and Dallas Kent, budding baseball star and golden boy of the Bay Fast forward ten years and we find that things don t always turn out as expected Nolan returns to the Bay after a scandal and wrongful accusations and Dallas, no longer the golden boy, in fact he s quite the [...]

    23. Great hurt comfort MM romance.I m a sucker for tortured heros and Dallas is than a little damaged He isn t able to speak and has been isolated for a long time When Nolan shows up to his animal rescue with a hurt racoon they are both surprised Nolan cant understand why Dallas is in Pelican Bay In high school he d been on the fast track to MLB Nolan was the gay kid who was picked on, taunted and embarrassed so when he was accepted to Juliard he went without question and never wanted to look back [...]

    24. Awwwwwww, I fell in love with this book It had everything I love about books It was low angst story even with all those things which needed to be explained and forgiven I really appreciate that it wasn t insta love, forgiveness, HEA I hope that the next book will be released soon.

    25. Two broken souls rejected by society are found together Sadly, heartbreaking and optimistic love story Wonderful reading

    26. A heartfelt, exciting story of two men in need The Animal Sanctuary is run by Dallas, 28, scarred and mute from the accident that killed his Mom and paralyzed his Dad Nolan is 28, a First Chair Classical violinist, that had to come home after a theft scandal and his Dad s stroke Nolan discovers his folks are 4 months behind on the mortgage and bills He tries to find a job to help out When he saves a baby raccoon, he delivers it to Dallas at the sanctuary They had known each other in their young [...]

    27. 4 stars for the writing Sloan Kennedy is a great writer and she can make you feel the feels2 stars for the unimaginative and completely stale plottingI m torn on this one On the one hand, I love the hurt comfort of the misunderstood guy with the heart of gold that just needs somebody to see him or in this case hear him but on the other hand, Sloan Kennedy relies on that so strongly as a plot point in so many of her recent books that it s so predictable as to be a bitring Ho Hum Oh, this again I [...]
