    2. A novel, full of mystery and suspense.I am not an avid reader of fantasy or YA but I would say I loved Lilith, the main character The best part is that Kayla focused on character building rather than creation of hot, steamy sex scenes.

    3. What an amazing young adult fantasy novel I pretty much LOVE witches and magic and toss that story line together with a Divergent series vibe and a Council with shady intentions and it s one wild ride One of the best parts of the book is the slow build and constant uncertainty of the main character Lilith She feisty, smart, and even when she s afraid she tries to do the right thing For a young adult novel, there s a lot of deep characterization and a focus on plot rather than romance I applaud t [...]

    4. 5. The Council is filled with magic and adventure A story that is riveting from the very first few pages and when we are introduced to the very strong willed and persevering character of Lilith Lace I love the fact that Miss Krantz has written a not so normal heroine and it certainly did her justice You were routing for her throughout the twists and turns and downfalls that she faced With romance that really leapt from the page and the magic that sizzled in a world that was mightily descriptive and [...]

    6. The Council by Kayla Krantz is a coming of age YA novel with strong characters and a plot filled with intriguing mysteries that kept me turning the pages It includes a variety of types of characters witches, faeries, shapeshifters, as well as UnEquipped persons which adds to the fascinating nature of this book.Lilith Lace is a young woman who s grown up in Ignis, the Coven of Fire, in the Land of Five Her parents are UnEquipped, meaning they have no magical powers The same is true of her best fr [...]

    7. The Council, by Kayla Kratz immediately drew me in with its complex world building and loveable characters Lilith s past has always been a bit of a mystery, but on the day of a special ceremony, the pieces begin to fall into place.Lilith was a wonderfully crafted character I grew to love her sarcastic and rather blunt way of interacting with others and was grateful for those brief moments where I got to see how vulnerable she truly is.Clio, best friend to Lilith is a quirky and humorous young fl [...]

    8. Just finished this book and what an excellent page turning read Part of the book reminded me of the Harry Potter sorting hat but with goblets mixed with Divergent ILoved the fact that the main character was not only female but wasn t perfect and had a disability which is lovely and unique showing that a hero doesn t have to be perfect I also thought Lilith s character was great, very stubborn, very sarcastic, again not the typical main character heroine Fantastic descriptions although would have [...]

    9. This genre is a new take to me for the author, as I m used to reading her thriller series I was excited to give her a chance at writing fantasy and she did not disappoint The characters are realistic and interesting, and each are placed in impossible situations where they are forced to grow I m eager to see where the story goes from here, and I recommend this book if you like supernatural dystopian novels with a bit of mystery and suspense mixed in.

    10. Great readI was hooked on this story at the very start This book is a coming of age story about a young witch and the challenges she faces when dealing with multiple covens, fae and other magical influences that surround her It is an adventure with loads of mystery, and each page will keep you craving I highly recommend this book for fans of witches, mystery, and books about self discovery.

    11. I really enjoyed this book, thanks to the intriguing plot and unusual protagonist Lilith may be a cripple physically, but she has never allowed that to interfere with her determination and search for the truth I loved the unexpected twists and turns, as Lilith uncovers the secrets of her past, and her prospects for the future Apart from a few editing problems, the book had me hooked from start to finish I m looking forward to reading the 2nd book in the series.

    12. The Council is the first book in The Witch s Ambitions Trilogy This book is filled with intriguing mystery, action, and what maybe the start of a romance The council will leave you guessing, whose best interest do they have in mind Magic and adventure, I didn t lose interest while reading this book Lilith is a strong character even when she struggles to balance her new duties and her personal problems. There is a nice cast of other characters that help move the story along Two of these characters [...]

    13. Expect the unexpected I genuinely could not put this book down, not only because of the endless stream of suspense and mystery it has to offer but also because once you step into the Land of Five, you wouldn t want to leave, not before you get all of the answers. This story follows a witch named Lilith Lace in her quest of truth after suspecting that her whole life might be nothing but a well thorny lie The story you ve told me my entire life has been a lie Lilith developed quite the huddle of in [...]

    14. I was given a copy of The Council by Kayla Krantz in return for a honest review on the book The author has successfully woven you into a world of magic where nothing is what it appears to be This gripping page turner novel does great job of keeping the reader in suspense The story begins with our main character Lilith and her friend Helena on the last day of schooling They are part of the unequipped or those whom show no signs of having magical abilities There is an upcoming test that they will [...]

    15. I was given a copy of the book, The Council by Kayla Krantz in exchange for an honest review The Council had me hooked in the first chapter This book is set in a land divided by 5 different Covens Each Coven is capable of developing different types of magic to help defend their people The Covens orderly practices are determined by the Council a group of witches with unique powers Lilith and her friends Clio and Helena, come from Ignis, the Land of Fire and have spent all of their school years st [...]

    16. The Council is a solid young adult novel that is as much mystery as it is fantasy The main protagonist, Lilith, though disabled through an accident as a child, has been made stronger by her difficulties She has a quick and inquisitive mind and a fire in her spirit Though seemingly born to parents who are UnEquipped non magical in the land of Ignis where fire powers blossom, she develops magical abilities common to the inhabitants of Mentis As she tries to understand why this anomaly has occurre [...]

    17. Amazing amazing amazing Oh, have I said it s amazing yet Lilith lives in a Coven of witches with pyrokinetic powers throwing fire She has always been UnEquipped magicless , but recently she has been developing powers But they are powers she shouldn t have, namely telekinetic and as a result she might have to switch Covens She doesn t want to leave behind everything and everyone she holds dear But she might have to Lilith is fiery, but also a cripple she has a bad limp and she struggles with that [...]

    18. The Council follows in a similar vein to the Divergent series There are separate covens and each coven has a primary ability in which they can do magic There is a also a ruling group the Council and a rebel group The main character, Lillith, is a strong character, just discovering her own unique and unexpected abilitiesillith is a witch who is powerful enough to overcome her disability, a childhood injury to her leg that had been caused by magic The daughter of Unequipped parents, she is not exp [...]

    19. Lilith is a teenage girl with a chip on her shoulder Having been crippled when she was little, she hates people trying to do things for her or feeling pity for her Right from the start, you admire her feisty spirit and want her to succeed in whatever she is doing, and she comes over as a determined young woman rather than annoying Set in a world where people belong to a Coven and either have a magical power or are Un Equipped, Lilith is unusual in that she has than one power When the witch, Iri [...]

    20. I generally groan and or roll my eyes at the thought of another story involving witches and magic, but this one surprised me Krantz s characters are developed and rich in texture the tale has uniqueness that generates intrigue and suspense This is not yet another Divergent rehash although I wasn t a fan to begin with, it seems to be a molded template of sorts So why am I docking a star Pacing it was incredibly slow What works as a slow burn in the first half of the book that entices the reader, [...]

    21. Not many fantasy novels contain such an intriguing mystery as this one I was on the edge of my seat as the plot unravelled The initial vision of what seems to be an utopian society quickly turns dark as one by one, people turn out to be not what they seem, and it is not long before poor, crippled Lilith has hardly anyone she can trust I gather this is the first book in a series, but it stands on its own quite satisfactorily, and I especially liked the portrayal of the protagonist, a physically h [...]

    22. Good book butow.I love a book with magic and mystery This book has it too You root for Lilith to make discoveries about her past and it is agonizing slowly revealed at the end Parts with action move the story faster which I like a lot better than hearing self contemplation The ending leaves you wanting Not what I expected I also dont like the fact there was so much swear words in it I have read a lot of YA books that did not use one swear word I love the plot and some of the characters but I fe [...]

    23. Our heroine Lilith is not your run of the mill teenage girl having your typical coming of age problems such as prom night and boys Instead she finds herself developing powers than she can ever imagine or handle There re a lot of story development and ever growing characters in this book to keep readers on the edge But at times, it s a bit confusing to keep up with all the new characters The burning question is of course, what s the real deal with Lilith s true identity and lineage Unfortunately [...]

    24. Great start to the trilogyThis is a magical YA fantasy story and unfolds a great mystery around Lilith who is fascinating character with great potential This is the first book in a trilogy but it stands well enough on its own though it ends with a good cliff hanger Characters are well developed, believable and kept me engaged as the story unfolded with some unexpected twists If the following books develop action conflict between the covens then this could become a really great series Recommende [...]

    25. This one started out a little slow for me, but once the story got started it turned out to be amazing This is truly a story about a young girl, Lilith has just discovered that she can actually do things with her powers What she doesn t know that is that her powers are very unusual and something the council needs to keep things running smoothly Each coven is separated to keep fights from breaking out When war does come to the covens, it comes from an unexpected source and Lilith may not get out a [...]

    26. This book had me captivated from start to finish, and I m eagerly awaiting the sequel There was a sense of mystery and suspense all the way through, as we don t always know who can be trusted I really appreciated how there wasn t a clear sense of who the good guys and bad guys are the author has succeeded in creating a world with depth and complexity I felt this book may have been a little inspired by Divergent, but personally I enjoyed it far .

    27. This is a good YA story The author created a world where you don t know who to trustere are lies, deception, jealousy and betrayal I loved how we see the characters develop especially Lilith, even though she feels like a cripple, she is powerful Now she just has to accept it and learn her truth.

    28. I was engrossed in the main character Lilith from the start The way she is made vulnerable and powerful all at once is compelling I have to say that the suspense of how her quest would end kept me waiting for the next chapter Without giving anything away, I am looking forward to see how she handles everything that happened towards the end Definitely a great read.

    29. I have to say normally I have a hard time getting into books which are written in 1st person until now I loved this book The characters were believable and drew me in, the story made me want to know what was going to happen next If you like fantasy I highly recommend picking up this book.

    30. A Good Magical ReadI like the setting and the people that make up this magical tale I was rooting for Li through the book, and I thought she was a good, solid character There were a few times when I wanted from her, but I was still satisfied with her words and actions Overall, I would rate this book a solid 3.8.
