The perfect FEEL GOOD run to BOOK Ivy Feckett, sometimes called Vee, is an irresistible character She is smart sensitive and shy She isn t the party girl She s too afraid to hit the town with her gorgeous, confident house mates Maggie and Siobban When it comes to men, Ivy feels inadequate, incapable, and naive Ivy s the girl to wear plain dark clothes to choose comfort before risk And when invited out to dinner, Ivy stays home by herself on a Friday night with a hot bath, a glass of wine, and he [...]

    2. Ivy Feckett is Looking For Love is a romance book for people who don t like reading romances, but it s a helluva lot as well This second novel from Jay Spencer Green confirms how much of a superbly talented author he is In fact, he s fast becoming one of my favourite fiction writers His work is so engrossing that one doesn t even stop to ponder at how expertly executed it is It s a world of completeness with relatable characters, a strong story and a lot of fun and funniness. This book is mello [...]

    3. I see what Mr Green is trying here, he is testing the waters, it s been about 2000 years since the first book was released, is the world ready for the sequel to the bible Here is an sample of what he has been working on And Reagan begat Saddam, and Bush begat Saddam, and Saddam begat war, and Bush begat war, and Bush begat Osama, and Osama begat war, and Bush begat Bush, and Bush begat war, and war begat war.Hypocrites 9 11 If the rest of his bible is gonna be of that class then I m signing up f [...]

    4. Ivy Feckett is an endearing hero She appears hewn from the aftermath of ladette culture, where nerdishness reclaimed ground, and those women who failed the tests of entry cradled their sore heads and wondered what now Her confusion is always justified, and just how perplexing life can be is gracefully sometimes ungracefully, sometimes disgracefully exposed in the course of the story Ivy is a bit awkward, clueless about some things, most things sometimes The sort of woman who reads books, proper [...]

    5. Mr Green strikes again This book is brilliant and extremely funny A real feel good modern romp of a good, shy girl dreaming of finding her perfect partner But true love doesn t come easy when there is so much evil in the world.Cue a web of shady characters, unfortunate events, master manipulators, and the oh so wise words of the gospel If thine eye offends thee, don t look at it Paradoxes 2 17 , and we have one of the cleverest and funniest books around Read and enjoy Re read and enjoy even

    6. Finished reading October 11th 2016 Every single day there are billions of acts of generosity, of good deeds, of cooperation Just because they re not on the news well, the job of the news is to report extraordinary events, and if extraordinary events are bad, presumably the ordinary things, the things not worth mentioning because they re so commonplace, are good A copy of this book was kindly provided to me in exchange for an honest review Thank you view spoiler WARNING unpopular opinion ahead I [...]

    7. Really enjoyed this one Fast paced, humorous and never without heart, Green has created an awesome protagonist in Ivy, who is a real talking bit of a mess tryhard to root for.It s so great to watch a writer develop like this There s no doubt that Green is easily hilarious, but I m a believer that story is essential, and the story here is great and resolved nicely and peeks through the joke avalanche with a much nicer balance than Cannibal Joe s, which was also awesome but the joke strategy with [...]

    8. This book was a lot of fun to read I finished it the same day it arrived in the mail, because it was so hard to put down Jay Spencer Green did a really good job in creating what might seems like the ordinary romantic comedy, but then it really takes some turns that I certainly wasn t expecting I must admit I was a bit confused about what was going on somewhere in the middle of the book I sort of lost the thread , but it made sense again soon after and in the end everything came clear All in all [...]

    9. I loved this book because it s set in my stomping ground I read it with a Brummie accent I m not from Birmingham though and have to say there were some laugh out loud moments It is as bizarre as the authors first book Breakfast at Cannibal Joe s I have recommended the book to quite a few of my friends who are from the area as it has a bit of nostalgia It was a great diversion and a quick read and gave me some light relief Looking forward to the next one now.

    10. A fun and funny light Irish nerd love romp and A note for Americans There were a lot of words and references I didn t understand, but I still laughed and enjoyed this The title says the plot Here s a description of the kiss Ivy, a researcher at a think tank where she researches euphemisms for vagina the list is hysterical and goes on for pages , has with her boss It was an awkward kiss, not least because of the significant difference in their heights Ned was bending from the waist as far as he [...]

    11. An eccentric, charming romance set no, rooted in Birmingham Vividly drawn characters that stay with you my personal favourite being Mad Jack Pance and his dog, Pus Plenty of sly humour, with a softer edge than the caustic wit of the author s acerbic and wonderful Breakfast at Cannibal Joe s Quirky, peculiar, and beguiling.

    12. A responsible adult would probably take measures to put an end to this madness, but Jay Spencer Green s scribblings are just too much fun to read and Ivy Feckett faceplants itself into that storied albeit short tradition I hope the author isn t sitting on his arse sipping wine while this reader pines in the cold by the fjords for numero three oh Bottom line Jay Spencer Green is a fecken good writer.

    13. Maybe I m just in the wrong mood for this book, but it seemed way too much like Bridget Jones s Diary to me And one of those is enough.
