    1. Finally, book five is published Talk about a long wait from the last one I really do enjoy this series and have always thought Sam was a terrific protagonist That being said, there were a few things that rubbed me the wrong way No, like irritated the crap out of me It seems that the author has reduced our heroine to become of a pushover and scatterbrain This woman really needs to stand up for herself and stop letting others, like her friends, family, boyfriend and clients that she has just met [...]

    2. I was really looking forward to An Old Murder in May seems like I ve been waiting a long time for it I m afraid this one missed the mark for me I was hoping Samantha had become the independent, strong woman she was heading for in the last couple of books Instead, in this one, she s bossed around and belittled by her boyfriend, Ben a mean private investigator, Skipper and her Dad Skipper especially drove me crazy He s mean and a bully and doesn t seem to care a wit for Samantha except what she ca [...]

    3. Completely Fascinating It seems like I ve been waiting forever for book 5 in this series, well 2 years actually However, it was definitely worth the wait It s a winning combination of murder, intrigue, romance, lots of humor sarcasm Samantha Rialto is gutsy, outrageous, hilarious, terribly accident prone She s a middle school music teacher that keeps finding herself in precarious situations when she gets caught up trying to find a missing macaw solve the 50 year old disappearance of an orphaned [...]

    4. Great These books amuse the heck out of me They are so funny, especially when Samantha thinks she s talking to herself but accidentally speaks out loud The characters are somehow over the top but still completely believable Ben is the perfect patient boyfriend but still protective when it s warranted Definitely read these in order If you like a quirky somewhat accident prone heroine, you will love them.

    5. Beautifully BrokenSo much going on Busy busy busy But I like that Samantha is broken She s showing women that it s okay to be broken, to pull yourself up, to try to fix yourself, and to move on I think the many battered women out there who think they are stuck, that they can never get away, and that they might deserve the abuse can learn a lot from Samantha.

    6. Evan did it againLove this series and all its quirky characters Never did figure out the murder which I like not a predictable murder mystery
