Good stuff from and about female trad climbers and mountaineers, from the 1920s to the middle 1990s A few of the entries fall flat, and there s definitely a large portion of British climbing and mountain culture included Despite a few boring sections, a few of the essays are so powerful, hilarious, or otherwise fascinating that it makes up for it I d love for this collection to come out every five years or so.

    2. Some really good essays and some mediocre ones Worth reading if you re interested in the history of climbing and, particularly, women who participated in it.
