Tom Zarek is perhaps the most frustrating if quite interesting character of the Battlestar Galactica reboot Skilfully played by Richard Hatch, Zarek s actions have often felt a bit contrived, serving whichever plot developments have been current in the series Now Brandon Jerwa has written a surprisingly strong back story for Zarek in the comic book form, illuminating the character s complexities and contradictions in a way that makes much of what we ve seen on screen feel plausible.Jerwa gives [...]

Zarek, the terrorist freedom fighter and prisoner when we met him in Galactica was always going to have an interesting back story and it is presented here in a nice format, with good art and an interesting story.As with other books in the series Zarak doesn t look like Zarak but the small numbers of main characters doesn t make this a major issue and it was easy to follow as well as being an interesting addition to the world of Battlestar Galactica.
