    1. Hard to Handle by Raven Scott is a sexy romantic suspense novel The characters popped out as believable to me Their was the theme of biracial relationships in this story Romance isn t always clean cut and perfect There s always something happening especially in African American literature like this one Drama of all kinds can be found Talk about a woman a man always loved , a woman who is engaged to his partner, and now, a dangerous enemy is to be added to the mix Somehow fate has brought both ch [...]

    2. ARC REVIEW Hard to Handle is Fortis book three, sigh Sam, I ve been waiting for this scottish hunk since book one Raven Scott does it again this is an action packed suspenseful romance that goes deep into corrupt politicians and re kindling a once forbidden romance between Sam and his business partner s fiancee, Mikayla I loved this one, I m not usually one for political drama, but the chemistry and the drama between Sam and Kaylee is worth it especially since it involves car bombs, death threat [...]

    3. Having read the first but not the second book in this series I wanted to see what happened with the Fortis Group I have to say Hard as Ice held my attention much better than this book did Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the copy to read in exchange for my honest review First I can t believe that someone like Sam would hold a torch for someone like Kaylee for four years I mean, really And, the idea that she began their second encounter with lies makes it worse He could have anyon [...]

    4. DISCLAIMER I received an ARC of this book in exchange of a review It was a good read, but I didn t enjoy it as much as the first installment of this series, which is the one I liked most, and even as the second one I guess the formula got a bit old tired for me, especially since I didn t find the mystery case all that compelling I also didn t like how the lead characters got together the first time around even though the writer try and make it less side eye worthy, Kaylee acted a bit too careles [...]

    5. In Hard to Handle Mikayla and Sam deal with assorted betrayals, secrets, and dirty dealings The initial source for their personal bad blood didn t work for me, but everything else did strong dialogue, strong interpersonal relationships, and a cast of characters who reflect present day demographics as normal without making a big ta do about it The Fortis series equals woman in jeopardy fun minor proofing incorrect correct oversights pg.270 Stop taking brides bribes pg.273 So I did a lot a of rese [...]

    6. This book is part of the Fortis series Fortis is a high end security company made up of very talented, strong and very alpha men This is Samuel s story.Samuel MacKdenzie has a new mission Imagine his surprise when his assignment is to protect the woman he has loved forever. In the midst of the suspense, heart pumping circumstance and chemistry will life give him a chance to not only protect her, but allow him to finally make him his Get ready for a bumpy ride. This book was gifted by the publisher [...]

    7. This book is written with deceit in mind Because of that trust is hard to come by Mikayla is determined to get to the bottom of the story no matter what she has to do Lying isn t out of the question if it will get her answers Sam was betrayed by Mikayla before so he isn t willing to trust her this go round either But he will do what ever it takes to keep her safe It s obvious that they have chemistry, but is that enough without trust They go through quite a lot together before they re able to te [...]

    9. This is the weakest book in the series, but still a decent read I think it may have been better to open with how Sam and Mikayla met instead of opening how it did and then like 3 chapters later going back in time for that Also, I didn t find the story itself to be all that compelling I had to force myself to finish this one But I m still going to keep an eye on this author as I did really enjoy the first two.

    10. Considering how much I usually enjoy romantic suspense, it is a surprise to myself that I didn t get into this story The suspense part of the story is well mapped out, the characters plan they steps ahead and those steps are constantly shared with the reader Also, the recoup after doing research on the case, and those are shared as well So you are constantly very much aware what is happening but it didn t draw my interest much The romance started in a way that I didn t like, she was cheating on [...]

    11. Decided to read all of one week s new releases in Romantic Suspense, as I ve had problems with the subgenre in the past, and wanted to see if my concerns about RS s put women in peril trope was still at play in contemporary releases This one turned out to have an interracial couple, which fills in a square on my Diversity Romance Bingo board.Kaylee, who had once slept with her fianc s friend, Sam unbeknownst to them both at the time , calls upon Sam for help four years later when she is in the [...]

    12. Loved The Fortis Series , hate to see it end.Would love for Raven to write books about Raymond, Renee and George JrSam and Kaylee meet 4 years ago and the sparks never left Hated that there was friction between Evan and Sam and it was great that even though there was friction Evan never did let the friction between the two get in the way of business Even though I love Evan I wanted to bloody his lip as he did Sam s I don t blame Kaylee nor Sam they did not know that Evan was mutual friend Nia pl [...]

    13. Loved it This is book three in the Fortis series, but is a stand alone book It s a fast paced romantic suspense novel that fans of the genre will love In it, Kaylee caused a man to commit an unpardonable sin against his best friend By doing so, she turned his world upside down and left him lying to his friend So when he leaves work one day and sees her waiting for him, he is not happy to see her Kaylee is adamant that she needs his protection, but he blows her off and leaves Then Kaylee forwards [...]
