    1. I m not going to rate this, because I honestly did too much skimming to count it as a read.I picked this up because it was recommended as a bodice ripper written this decade nearly unheard of and it was available on Kindle Unlimited. Was this a bodice ripper Yes, it was It had the elements trigger spoiler warning view spoiler The hero raped the h and there was another scene where the villain assaulted the heroine He didn t rape her, but he was a sadist and beat and sexually assaulted her hide spo [...]

    2. I very rarely leave reviews but I m leaving one for this novel because I think another reviewer s comments are crazy Liking or not liking the characters or plot is one thing everyone has differing opinions on these aspects of a book But attacking the writing quality of this novel is nonsense It is my understanding this is a debut novel and I thought the writing was superb No grammatical issues, spelling problems, or mistaken word choices, which are so common in books today The writing is so desc [...]

    3. I liked this a lot there were a couple times where either izzy or her cousin Belinda called out the sexism that was an unfortunate part of life at that time and that always makes me happy You don t always see that a fair amount of angst, when one thing gets cleared up another thing takes its place there is a bit of a rape which stinks, but it isn t a prolonged scene And I won t make excuses for the perp but I was okay with the resolution I liked the writing style I was hoping to see Belinda with [...]

    4. Feel too long and repetitive They were constantly fighting and there were a million misunderstandings, and I would have preferred if there were periods when they actually happy together and building their relationship instead of just fighting again I m also never a fan of when the villain is a villain because they re into bdsm.

    5. I did not want this book to end It was VERY well written The plot was very engaging and though the story did take a enjoyable length of time to culminate to a very satisfactory conclusion, the story was not overly drawn out The writer keeps the action and dialogue flowing wonderfully I have read a lot of historical fiction, and found that Ms Brody can explain things to modern readers without making it a pompous history lesson She writes with wisdom and intelligence.Having read some serious works [...]

    6. Title Virtue and ViceGenre s M F, historical romanceSetting 17th century EnglandPOV s Third person omniscient, which gives readers generous glimpses into the thoughts and feelings of the two main characters Lead Male Character Ramsay Julian James Maitland, Viscount Royston, and much to his chagrin blindly betrothed to Isabelle BeaumontLead Female Character Isabelle Izzy Beaumont, blindly betrothed to Ramsay Maitland, Viscount RoystonPlot Neither of the betrothed wishes to marry the other Prior t [...]

    7. A gut wrenching page turner filled with deceit, insults, betrayal, jealousy, and spicy love scenes I had to put it down at times because of the anguishIzzy, the heroine, was HORRIBLE I didn t like her at all Her husband, Ram, did some horrible things too, but I felt that he was truly remorseful and attempted to make things right Enjoyed this and read it 1 day

    8. It s the characters that make this a five star story Yes, it s what I consider a spicy read One that you don t want to leave open on your tablet where kids are around But it s Izzy and Ram that keep the pages turning Even the supporting cast gets fleshed out but Izzy and Ram are just so human The most interesting people aren t always likeable but they re always compelling Izzy and Ram certainly earn the happily ever after that they eventually get but by then, I felt like they deserved it.

    9. Good book Looking forward to stories from this writerOverall a good read However, the way that Izzy viewed Paul during about 70% of the book was a tad unrealistic seeing as they hadn t have history enough for such a strong bond and loyalty I would say that the plot is a bit deeper than the average romance novel I m looking forward to reading about Belinda s story.

    10. Frustratingd not in a good wayIzzy is the most silly, dimwitted, self centered, idiot of heroins While I would not go as far as saying she necessarily deserved all that happened to her I found it difficult to be overly sympathetic.

    11. I absolutely loved this book I love when the characters go through hell before they get their happily ever after And Kimberly Brody dragged them through hell and back It was awesome.
