    1. Volume 4, in the Blackwell FilesAlthough this book is part of a series it works quite well as a standalone I haven t read the previous books and I wasn t lost or even thought that I had missed anything.A simple blurb When Cryptologist Alton Blackwell and girlfriend, FBI Agent Mallory Wilson decide to take a trip to Italy for a nice romantic vacation their pleasure was soon squashed While on a sightseeing tour the love birds witnessed a murder, turned out the victim was a rogue employee of a high [...]

    2. 4.5 StarsStolen files, murder and another mystery mean Alton and Mallory s trip to Italy just went from vacation to working in solving another mystery and when they are targeted by assassins things get allot personal for the couple When files that could change the world are stolen and the seller is killed in Rome where Alton and Mallory find him they are thrust into another situation where they must figure out who done it before the files get into the hands of the wrong people.Alton is determin [...]

    3. When Alton Blackwell a cryptologist takes his girlfriend, an FBI Agent , Mallory Wilson, on a surprise trip to Italy, the couple expects a wonderful vacation One filled with pleasure, excitement, etc But that all changes when they become targeted by assassins Stolen files and murder This is another mystery for them to solve The plot was awesome I could follow the story as it was happening, from the moment they left for their vacation, when they were targeted, and throughtout the entire book They [...]

    4. I adored this book The plot of this story was high impact and continued the momentum throughout the story The characters are strong and believable This is a mystery entwined with a very romantic love story that can t be beat This is a summer MUST read I worried about this being a fourth in a series because sometimes series stretch stories too far NOT THIS ONE This book is far my favorite I say this on each book from the Blackwell Files

    5. An Ex Army officer and his FBI girlfriend are on a vacation in Italy when they happen on a shooting in the Coliseum When the Officer runs to investigate his actions get them heavily involved in a case of murder and industrial espionage that puts their lives in danger as they assist the Italian Police.

    6. My favorite so far Mr Freeman blends romance, suspense, and beautiful descriptions of Italy into a fast paced mystery I didn t want to put down Alton Blackwell and Mallory Wilson are a great team Can t WAIT to read the next one

    7. Boring Just boring And the h insists on calling the H sweetie all through the book What, are they like, eighteen And the book just refuses to end The last 4 chapters are completely tacked on and unnecessary And the H s angst Laughable.Give this one a miss.

    8. Imagine a memory chip which stored information on a sub atomic level, using the actual electrons of atoms A chip the size of modern microchips would be able to hold almost limitless information Such storage capacity would be worth lives In Havoc, it is worth many lives Companies around the world are aware of the possibility to create such technology, and they are racing to solve the puzzle and be the first to capitalize on the idea Vidulum seems to have made the largest break in solving the puzz [...]

    9. I was given this e book by the author in exchange for an honest review. When the third book in the Blackwell Files series, T Wave, ended, Alton Blackwell and his girlfriend,FBI Agent Mallory Wilson, were about to embark on a vacation in Italy As Havoc opens, the pair is on their way to their destination, excited to begin their romantic holiday As Blackwell Wilson fans know, trouble seems to find our duo, and this vacation is no exception They soon come up against murder, stolen computer files, an [...]

    10. Disclaimer I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Havoc is yet another book by author Steven F Freeman I reviewed the first book in The Blackwell Files, Nefarious, last year, and got the chance to pick up one of the next installments One thing I should just note up front, though, is this is book 4 in the series One thing that was nice was it was extremely easy to pick up without reading 2 and 3, and feeling like I was missing something Same characters, but certainly [...]

    11. When Cryptologist Alton Blackwell takes his girlfriend, FBI Agent Mallory Wilson, on a surprise trip to Italy, the couple expects the vacation of a lifetime, but their pleasure is short lived Intent on selling Vidulum Inc s proprietary technology to the highest bidder, a rogue employee of the high tech company arranges a clandestine meeting at one of Rome s most famous tourist attractions Rather than collecting a huge payday, however, the company turncoat encounters a lethal surprise When Alton [...]

    12. Someone has secretly copied the files of a breakthrough computer storage solution The affected company sends people to try and retrieve the stolen files The thief, an insider, is killed in Rome, which sets off a sequence of events for all concerned In my opinion, the story does not achieve the high suspense you would normally expect of a thriller, instead it is pedestrian and predictable, particularly as you follow all the players I felt it would be suspenseful if there was a limited point of [...]

    13. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review. This novel has a lot of fantastic things about it, making it an overall very enjoyable read The way the story lines converge over the course of the novel is exquisite and you re not disappointed when the plot twist is revealed, it is that good The characters were mostly well written and I found I could easily engage with them, both protagonist and antagonist Obviously well researched, the technical information present [...]

    14. This book would easily deserve four stars if not for the horribly forced dialog between the two main characters It makes the book virtually unreadable Havoc is the type of book that would typically take me only a day or two to read, but it took over a weekd that was with plenty of free time to read I just couldn t get beyond all of the horribly written sexual innuendo and pet names that don t flow with the rest of the writing. It is a shame too, because the plot is interesting and modern In fact, [...]

    15. Wow In this latest thriller by Steven Freeman, Mallory and Alton are pursuing bad guys and being pursued all over Italy What starts out as a romantic getaway turns into another international case to solve for our couple And we wouldn t expect anything less.My favorite scene was the shoot out in Pompeii I won t say than that, except I could totally see the narrow, ancient streets with Mt Vesuvius in the background watching the scene unfold As usual, there was a host of players that left the read [...]

    16. Alton surprises Mallory with a romantic trip to Italy But a chance encounter with another American couple on their own romantic getaway has them embroiled in another mystery And now the killer is after them.Alton also has his own doubt about his worthiness to Mallory upon finding out she had a boyfriend after returning from Afghanistan Does she really love him or is she just settling for him I have read all four of the Blackwell Files and this is the best of the series Not only is the relationsh [...]

    17. I received this book for a fair review.Alton and Mallory probably won t be going on vacation again They ve been caught up in another murder investigation. This was fun Let s start off by saying that, their promise to for go the passion side of the relationship didn t last long Mr Freeman almost came close to being too graphic for my tastes The case was interesting and there were enough parties involved that you couldn t be sure of whose side anyone was on The killer s identity was well hidden and [...]

    18. I finished this book but it was a struggle There was too much dialogue between the characters and it verged on cheesy sometimes Real people don t talk like that The idea was good the stolen technology etc but everyone was portrayed as inefficient apart from the two main characters This is the only book I ve read from the series and I don t want to read about this annoying pair of individuals.

    19. A pretty good mystery for a free download form based on a Bookbub recommendation Decent if slightly sappy plot involving a man injured in Afghanistan and female FBI agent who met during the rigors of war in a hostile land and developed a friendship which bloomed into love The take a two week vacation to Rome and mystery and mayhem ensue I believe there are several books in this series so I might look for others as long as they are free

    20. Alton and Mallory are at it again Filled with intrigue and romance without sacrificing intelligence, Mr Freeman has done it again Readers of all genres will find what they re looking for in this book The characters are well developed and their exploits believable without being boring or predictable Enjoy

    21. Very entertainingIt was the first time I read anything by this author but I would like to read from him I liked the characters Alton and Mallory and enjoyed the Italian setting Although this was not the first book in the series, the author did a good job of covering background details.

    22. I had a hard time getting into this book I loved the first three but this one didn t grab my attention like the others It was still a great book and I enjoyed reading I look forward to the next book

    23. I had not read previous books in this series, but it didn t matter It is a gripping thriller that makes you want to go on reading I liked the characters and the journey through the book Italy was great Definitely want to read in this series can t wait for the next one Recommended.

    24. Just okThere were too many unknown characters in this book, and none, not even the two main characters , were well developed The story had a pretty good plot, but character development left a Hugh gap.

    25. Another winner Steven Freeman knows how to design an intricate plot and keep you guessing as several plots unfold and then expertly weave all the parts together Now, I am on to the book 5

    26. Waste of timeRepetitive, inane dialogue Stupid people Unbelievable romantic couple Kept hoping I d come across something worth reading I figured out who did it right away, but couldn t believe the plot would be so trite.

    27. Freeman Does It AgainMr Freeman not only continues the intriguing Blackwell files saga, he keeps improving the suspense and storyline Have a borrowed book I must finish first but will be reading the next in this series ASAP

    28. HAVOC I really liked this book There are so many characters that it was a little confusing in the beginning but it all came together in the end Check it out Sincerely, Diane Galburt
