If I had a dollar for each second book in a series that disappointed me and or left me on a cruel cliffhanger, I d have a lot money to spend on standalone novels Salamaine s Curse is one of the few exceptions I enjoyed this book as much as The Mapmaker s Sons I may have even enjoyed the second book even because I already knew the world Just like the first book, this one doesn t skim on language or depth just to appeal to reluctant readers The plot kept my interest throughout and had a twist ne [...]

This review is from an ARC A very nice sequel to The Mapmaker s Sons As I was familiar with many of the characters, this story seemed to move quickly, with lots of adventure and suspense Tom, Porter, Willa, and Mudge face their extraordinary adventures with resourcefulness and teamwork I would recommend this series for middle grade readers who like other fantasy series and or fast paced action books The black and white illustrations were incomplete sketches in the ARC, and I look forward to see [...]
