I bought this volume solely to read Patrick Rothfuss short story The Road to Levinshir during the long wait between The Name of the Wind and Wise Man s Fear, which as of this writing is to be released in less than a months time The Road to Levinshir was less polished than Rothfuss full length novel, nonetheless it was solid and a welcome fix while waiting for the next chapter in Kvothe s story.

    2. Another great volume in this collection, this time from 2002 I always enjoy these stories, all original works from previously unpublished authors Many bring fresh ideas to the body of sf fantasy fiction Others are new takes on old themes It is also interesting to read the author s and artist s bios I liked What Became of the King by Aimee C Amodio It did seem like this volume had fantasy alternate worlds with non human creatures rather than sf themes As always, I recommend this volume along wit [...]

    3. Some of the stories in this anthology deserve at least 4 stars, but others bring the average down to 3 That s great for stories that are all from new writers Definitely worth reading, especially for people who compete in the Writers of the Future contest.
