What did I just read While The Nocturnals is generally praise worthy for its art if not the storylines which tend to be clunky, contrived and confusing this one was pale, bland and largely uninteresting Polychrome and Festus my favorites barely appear in it and both of the stories have a Scooby Doo feel that s just wrong.The opening praise by Rob Zombie gave me some high hopes, but the volume failed to deliver anything coherent Why did Gunwitch pass out when fairies tapped him on the head Why we [...]

    2. High praise from Rob Zombie tends to endear me to things, but Brereton s Nocturnals in spite of extremely excellent character concepts gave me little to get excited about Said characters and a comprehensive pinup gallery earns this volume an extra star.
