    2. Much better as a description of ancient North India than a novel The author made a quite good research on conditions and hardships of everyday s lives of people of various origins and characteristics in a small Indian kingdom during the times of Buddha But the story itself lacks action and it s really just a walk from one event to another without any twists or mysteries.
