    1. It s of a reference book than a book to read through, but the explanations are clear and the examples generally useful Back in 1975, when it was first published, it was probably a godsend The third edition incorporates some corpus data, which keeps this book relevant today.

    2. I m reading a 1992 impression of the 1975 edition It s not exactly a page turner, but it has been very useful, even to a level 10 grammarhound.

    3. I read this book around 2012 while I was in my English cramming moment during which time transformed me from an idiot to a less idiot.
