I was in the mood for a rip snorter of an adventure I was reminded of this author by a friend s recent comment on my review for Cursed, an England title I read a few months ago There had been so much hold your breath don t look away action going on in that story I almost passed out from lack of air, so I decided another England work would be just the ticket for my mood.The Flying Legion was definitely an adventure, but even though there was lots of excitement, I didn t enjoy it as much as I did [...]

    2. I found the language interesting I was surprised to learn that it was written in 1920 It was a good story.

Overall this is a pretty solid book, it has a very pulpy storyline but the writing is far better than you might expect from 1920.The hero super villain of the story is an ex army guy, who s somehow a millionaire and inventor extraordinaire He also only likes to be referred to as The Master one of his many super villain traits Bored he decides to recruit some other ex military types for an unknown venture These are joined unexpectedly by the mysterious Captain Alden who wears a face mask to cover [...]
