    1. Let s go find the bad guys With that speech bubble, and a full page illustration of Daredevil, Spider Man, and Black Cat swinging into action over the Big Apple, it s pleasing that this edition rarely takes a wrong step It s also lighter in tone not necessarily a bad thing and humorous than some of the previous collections Stories include DD preventing a kidnapping at a Mafia wedding even managing to steal a kiss from the bride to be , leading a group of stranded blind children to safety from a [...]

    2. Barely made it halfway through this Can t say I m a huge fan of Waid s writing here Or maybe indie comics are just killing it right now for me Because this doesn t feel real enough But the artwork is very well done.

    3. Auch wenn der Comic gut war, bin ich froh, dass die Netflix Serie bisher ohne metaphysischen Bullshit auskam und sich mehr den organisiertem Verbrechen widmet.

    4. I ve always like Daredevil as a character Funny I should say that, because when I was a kid, I never read his book I remember reading a Fantastic Four comic once where Galactus was super hungry and made a last ditch attempt to eat the earth, because, you know, yum, and the Avengers and the FF were having it out with him It was all lightning in the sky and buildings falling over and all that.During the fight, there was a panel, or two, of Daredevil and Spider Man sitting or standing on top of a b [...]

    5. This is my second time reading all of these stories, and I have to say, they read just as fresh and exciting as they did the first time around Mark Waid and Paolo Rivera s styles compliment each other perfectly, and they do a fantastic job elevating Daredevil out of the horrible, depressing mire the character fell into during the Shadowland era. They ve really done the unthinkable they ve made Matt Murdock positive I mean, a brooding hero from time to time is great, but it s been done a million t [...]

    6. This series gets A LOT of praise, but it s taking me a while to get into it So far I m having trouble getting over the shift to cheery Daredevil Throughout the Miller Bendis Brubaker stuff, Daredevil is kind of Marvel s closest analog to Batman, and this take on the character is clearly reflected in the TV show At the tail end of this collection I m starting to see hints at where Waid wants to take Daredevil with this story, but for now it s just kind of puzzling It isn t really my favorite styl [...]

    7. I m coming into Daredevil after really liking the character for the first time based on the work of Bendis and then Brubaker This run has been getting a lot of positive press so I thought I would check it out The atmosphere is starkly different than where I left off reading with Brubaker This Daredevil is cheery, determined to keep his chin up, and crack a smile no matter what happens It s a little off putting compared to where he is coming from There are a couple art styles displayed in the boo [...]

    8. This is an AMAZING interpretation of Daredevil.Mark Waid goes back to the basics and reinvents the character People say it s too lightly or too cartoonish or so on But it s actually great It starts fresh and it goes deeper and deeper as it moves further Matt may not be the completely broken, damaged individual we all know and love, but he is not having a fun time either The supporting characters are great, the plot is seriously amazing I read this during the summer, when I was going through some [...]

    9. Pros Nice set up for Daredevil y hijinks, a slightly cheerful tone with some fun writing, clean art that doesn t make me feel like my optic nerve s been severed and tossed into a food processor Cons Cheerful Daredevil What the hell

    10. This is a truly massive volume that I hoped would collect all issues of a single story arc to kickstart my reading of Daredevil comics Nope 13 issues, four distinct story arcs, and many art styles Sorry Just wasn t digging it.

    11. Great Daredevil story The art is great and I love how Waid writes Matt Murdock It is a very well done Daredevil story.

    12. Not the biggest fan of DareDevil, smug bastard but the art and crime story in this opening run is compelling enough to continue on with Vol 2.

    13. I had a blast reading all of the trades collecting volume 2 of Daredevil last year But after plowing through a 100 issues I needed a little breather before diving into volume 3 by Mark Waid This first volume collects issues 1 10, as well as 10.1 and an Amazing Spider Man tie in Since it was a new writer artist team and new renumbering I thought it was going to be an all new reboot, but that is not the case as this keeps the cannon established in volume 2 with Matt Murdoch being outed by tabloids [...]

    15. This was the perfect place to start with Daredevil he s just come back from some super dark happenings and is trying to start his NYC life over again This is apparently much lighter and fun than previous runs, which is up my alley, and there s lots of little boxes giving background information This compiled a bunch of short stories with one thread running through about the five cartels AIM, Hydra, etc after information that Matt has I love how there are panels showing what how he sees the world [...]

    16. The Good I m a longtime superhero fan, but, I know very little about DareDevil I never saw the Ben Affleck film because I never really wanted to Still, with my recent interest in comics, I figured I could check out one of Marvel s best loved heroes, and, for the most part, I enjoyed these adventures Murdoch may be blind, but he doesn t let that stop him, which makes his story all the inspiring. The Bad Though mostly fun, the writers and artists felt the need to add in a bit too much profanity an [...]

    17. Waid s just great I struggle to decide if I prefer Bendis s who wrote Daredevil as we know Daredevil perfectly or Waid s who wrote Daredevil like we ve never seen him before while still staying really true to the character runs, but they re both amazing reads Waid manages to write a light hearted book about a dark character by showing Murdock than usual Still, inexplicably, it still feels like Daredevil he s just coping differently, and characters in the book even notice his unually sunny dispo [...]

    18. Good solid book A little irritating in that the last third of the book I d read in a different graphic novel a perennial problem with the graphic novel is that stories are reprinted in multiple places. So the world knows that Matt Murdock in Daredevil and he s trying to convince the world that he s not It probably will get old but for now it is still kind of amusing And wow, I didn t realize how much Daredevil gets beat to a pulp over and over again. But a lot of this is Matt Murdock but with insi [...]

    19. There s just something so blah about Daredevil He comes across as an eighth rate Batman in terms of powers, abilities, personal qualities, c The thing about Batman is no matter how much judo Bruce Wayne learns he can never bring back his parents But Daredevil s radar sense replaces Murdock s sight and usually THEN SOME The author has to work hard to show the difference between vision and the radar sense The book s central conceit most people kind of believe that Matt Murdock is Daredevil could p [...]

    21. So good I love this snappy writing for Daredevil, and the artwork is superb and lithe, just like our hero The art often shows the world how Murdock sees it through radar, especially at times when his vision is overly sensitive or confused That, and the other fun visual perspectives Murdock falling backward off a rooftop while talking on the phone and changing into costume , are used to great effect.I will say that I enjoyed the first half of this GN than the second the book consists of two stor [...]

    22. Mark Waid has always been a favorite of mine and this book is exactly why Daredevil has been such a gloomy character for the past couple.cades I guess Seeing Waid s take is so refreshing while still keeping Matt himself How Waid deals with Matt s outing from years past is hilarious and sadly realistic Honestly, starting a series with an established character and using villains not associated with him is brave Waid pulls it off so well The art, mostly by Marcos Martin is amazing How he illustrate [...]

    23. Mark Waid states that he grew up a DC fan and it shows in his approach to the man without fear A much nicer version of Batman mixed with the wit of Flash and bravado of Hal Jordan In fact, his history of working on Flash definitely shows Daredevil the boy scout has been broken but not completely He s still fighting for the little guy and getting deeper into trouble with Hydra, AIM and possibly Doom Not too much action in this comic but like DC, the quest for this hero is in finding his own sense [...]

    24. Re read this 2 years later and it s still amazing Matt Murdock smiles now and isn t so depressing What s great about Waid s DD is the portrayal of his powers There are always great moments in each issue whereas in the older runs Bendis, Brubaker DD s powers take a backseat Why underutilize what makes him unique Equal parts action and lawyering, but definitely less moping And the art is vibrant, which is also a much welcomed change from the other runs I actually prefer Rivera over Samnee who cont [...]

    25. I m genuinely surprised at how much I love this series, especially given that Mark Waid is far from my favorite author But what he and all the artists that work on this series bring to the table is absolutely phenominal This I carnation of Ol Hornhead is one of the most fun I ve read in a long time and shows there s still life left in the traditional super hero genre Also I cannot believe I haven t reviewed these before as I have been reading the series in individual issue format since the start [...]

    26. I really liked this collection up until the last couple of pages I find Marvels criminal organizations laughableA.I.M Hydra, Angence Byzantine, Black Spectre, The Secret Empiredudes in goofy suits And some omegadrive thingy made from a piece of a Fantastic Four costume Please Matt Murdock Daredevil is a much better character when he is fighting real crime I like the way that Mark Waid and Co depict how Murdock Daredevil perceives his world without eyesight.

    27. Remember Waid s classic run on the Flash It s like that, except it s the Daredevil Good solid craftsmanship on display here There s not one reason in the world that every major title from both DC and Marvel are not this decent What elevates this series is of course the arts by Martin and Rivera Top notch work Terrific writing from Waid too I m not much of a DD fan but this was rather enjoyable.

    28. This book put back the fun, sardonic, swashbuckling, adult, witty side of the Daredevil comic which had been missing for some many years of wallowing in the grim, dark, desolate and gloomy world created by Frank Miller My first favorite among Marvel s costumed vigilantes is back with aplomb, and boy was he missed Also, the art is top notch.

    29. I had this recommended to me by the good people o the internet as a good starting point for someone who hadn t read any Daredevil but loved the TV series on Netflix I was not steered in the wrong direction Heavy on the Murdockiness is that a word and nice clean art made this a very pleasing graphic novel Especially loved when DD teamed up with Spidey I can t wait to finish the series.
