    1. Before I even realized what was happening the boat lurched wildly to the right, throwing us into the violent waters What you just read was one of the many things young, sleuth Nancy and her friends had to deal with while trying to enjoy their weekend, up in the small town of Avondale, that they had anticipated relaxing Seventeen year old Nancy Drew and her best friends George and Bess had just wanted to have a great weekend that they would remember forever, but after a fire at a rusty old bookst [...]

Once Upon a Thriller by Carolyn Keene is the fourth of the Nancy Drew Diaries Nancy and her friends have a cabin rented in a small mountain town Almost immediately their trip is interrupted by a series of odd accidents, all of which seem to point to the reclusive mystery author living at the other side of the lake pussreboots blog 2017 comm

    3. Three stars half a star than the last book for being the least terrible book in this series as I read them in order Maybe it s because the book is quite a bit shorter than the previous ones, but at least it didn t drag on forever with useless plot devices I would imagine that very young readers would like it Otherwise, it s pretty meh, but not, as I said, absolutely terrible.

    4. I haven t gotten around to reading this Diaries book, because spoilers ruined it for me But now, since it s been a while, I forgotten who did it Lol However, as soon as I started reading the book, I had a pretty good feeling who it was and was correct The premise of this book is kinda similar to ND 79 The Double Horror of Fenley Place Both stories have something that is fictional being repeated in real life But other than that, the stories are pretty different This story was quite engaging, I wa [...]

    5. The mystery aspect was good but the reveal was lacking I think it is about time for me to give up on this series since out the the four books I ve read so far two of them were the worst books I ve ever read, one was good and one was just okay I am not saying that there wasn t some really bad books in the original Nancy Drew Mystery series but the ratio of awful books to good once was definitely way better.

    6. I have not found a Nancy Drew book that I don t like I always have so much fun reading the stories, and this one was no exception I loved it.

    7. A Mediocre Mystery Book four in the Nancy Drew Diaries, Once Upon a Thriller continues the contemporary adventures of teen sleuth Nancy Drew In this installment, Nancy, Bess, and George plan to spend a relaxing weekend at Moon Lake in the little town of Avondale However, an incident at the local bookstore sets off a chain reaction of crimes that seem to mimic those written by mystery author Lacey O Brien As Nancy struggles to figure out the links and the perpetrator, someone seems to be trying t [...]

    8. In the fourth book in the new Nancy Drew series, Nancy, Bess and George are relaxing at Moon Lake, when the travel into the town of Avondale to visit the local bookstore Paige s Pages is in flames which would at first seem like a tragic accident The trio is out on a boat, and they have a close call on the lake Nancy s wallet also disappears, and then a statue is stolen All of these are plots to local author, Lacey O Brien s mystery novels Is there a copycat in town Nancy begins her tour of the t [...]

    9. Book four in the Nancy Drew Diaries, Once Upon a Thriller continues the contemporary adventures of teen sleuth Nancy Drew In this installment, Nancy, Bess, and George plan to spend a relaxing weekend at Moon Lake in the little town of Avondale However, an incident at the local bookstore sets off a chain reaction of crimes that seem to mimic those written by mystery author Lacey O Brien As Nancy struggles to figure out the links and the perpetrator, someone seems to be trying to prevent her from [...]

    10. What is happening Girl on the cover looks about 12, but Nancy has credit cards and can drive It s like the normal books, except writing style is in first person, and Nancy s voice is like that of a middle schooler or younger Talk of ebooks, cell phone GPS and not judging a modern Nancy.Same old Nancy Ignores no trespassing signs, almost gets run over by a car, receives threatening messages Other thoughts Right kind of creepy, with crimes taken from books and potential prowlers outside Enough for [...]

    11. A novel starring my old favourite Nancy Drew in a modern setting No, it wasn t brilliant, but it wasn t the worst thing I ve read this year, either Nancy has support than your usual detective novel but it is still up to her to solve the crime by herself Her friends are just along for the ride On the whole, a typical children s novel that relies on the Scooby Doo school of solving mysteries.

    12. When Nancy was looking at the burned building of Paige s bookstore, she didn t suspect anything would happen Nancy soon went to the Cheshire Cat Inn, went into the antique shop and looked at Lacey O Brien s books She found a two books Burned and Framed and read them At the end, she realized Paige was the culprit.I chose this rating because I liked this book a lot I would recommend this to older and younger children.

    13. Fun nonsense reading quick youth fiction Enjoyed seeing how Nancy Drew of my childhood has been updated with ebooks, MP3 players, and cell phones though minor spoiler it s not clear how their phones survived the canoe topping over Wouldn t have ever read this except for picking it up at a vacation rental house Enjoyed the hour or two diversion.

    14. Even though I didn t like this as much as the other Nancy Drew Diaries, this was still a very interesting book Nancy once again tries to solve a mystery, but this time the mystery is based upon books that someone wrote I liked the way my mind got confused while reading this book, but the author ended it so that I could understand I would recommend this book to any Nancy Drew fan.

    15. Read the previous book in this series had to read this one because of the incredibly cool title It turned out to be a well crafted mystery for middle high school readers with good action suspense that was a relaxing read for me Well balanced writing with just the right amount of detail and characterization to keep the story moving at a good pace Recommended

    16. I m surprised that not a lot love this I personally enjoyed it This is my first book of this new Nancy Drew series and I love it You get to read from Nancy s POV and Ned also made a cameo Plot wise, the mystery was based off a book It s a book about a book ND fans should not miss it I m glad I read this

    17. Just finished reading this to my granddaughter First Nancy Drew I ve read since I was her age This Diary series has been modernized and updated to appeal to today s preteens I think they succeeded, granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed it.

    18. I give this Book 5 5 Stars here on I dearly love Nancy Drew Mysteriesey are really good They are down to earth type stories swearing Her Books are clean cut Mysteries and that is what I love I highly recommend this book.

    19. What a great title This was my favourite so far in the Nancy Drew Diaries series It had all the good bits Nancy, Bess and George having fun together, a neato setting, some literary and artsy intrigue, a cameo by Ned, and Nancy putting all the pieces together.

    20. In this new update, Nancy, George and Bess are planning to relax and rest at a cabin outside of a small town called Avondale In true Nancy Drew fashion they become involved in a mystery almost immediately when a local bookstore catches on fire.

    21. Great premise, but it fell a little short for me Loved Ned s appearance, though I think my main problem was that the culprit s motive was kind of out of nowhere and didn t really make sense to me Other than that, I enjoyed the mystery

    22. When I saw this book in a library discard sale I realised I had never read any Nancy Drew books This one is No 4 in the modernised series and it entertained me for a couple of hours.
