    1. Review of Eight Mile Island by Tony Talbot5 StarsA new super stunner from prolific and excellent YA author Tony Talbot, Eight Mile Island kept me on the edge throughout, with its intricate interweaving of cutting edge scientific experimentation and paranormal elements, realistic characters, isolated even spooky locale, beautiful setting, and 1000 mile an hour plotting I could not put this novel down until I d finished it, and once I d reach the denouement and thought, Well so it s over, I had s [...]

    2. Tony, Tony, Tony You have created a truly amazing book here I COULD NOT put it down Since reading your first book, I have thoroughly enjoyed your writing style, but I can honestly say, you just keep getting better and better The imagery and realism captured in the story as I was bundled up and dragged along with Dylan was rather scary in parts. The eerily strange goings on on Eight Mile Island kept me biting my nails and second guessing the plot twists the whole way I didn t know who to trust, I [...]

    3. This review was originally published on Blogs of a Bookaholic.A creepy and action packed escapade with an elusive mystery that will keep you turning the pages I was really excited to read Eight Mile Island the premise sounded intriguing and I don t read YA novels from a male protagonists point of view as much as I probably should Well, I m glad to say that I wasn t disappointed, this book sure packs a punch with pretty much constant action from start to finish If you re looking for a quick read [...]

    4. This is a great YA mystery adventure with a male lead you ll probably loathe then like if you re anything like me one sentence was all it took for me to dislike him, then another one to turn everything around It sucker punched me a bit, I will admit Tony weaves a great story with twists, technology and science that will make your skin creep at times, as Dylan finds out about the strange Eight Mile Island With short, fast paced chapters and lots of action, all told in a clear, descriptive style [...]

    5. Having a high IQ, Dylan knew he was talented so being shipped off to another boarding school for the gifted and rich was nothing new, he knew he would just slip out the backdoor like always and continue on his way He knew being placed on an island might present some new challenges but he could handle it What Dylan didn t expect was the voices and other comments he heard as he disembarked from the ferry What seems like a tropical paradise to his parents, in not what is in store for Dylan as he fi [...]

    6. Wow, where the heck did that afternoon go to I sat down outside, fired up my Nook, and opened up Eight Mile Island What followed was a couple of hours of heart racing, mind whirling action that never stopped until the last page and left me feeling mentally exhausted from trying to figure out what was really going on This is one of those gripping stories that you can t stop thinking about after you re done, and the ending totally floored me I totally agree with my friend, Becky, that this is a gr [...]

    7. This is one of those books you put down and turn the light off to go to sleep, then within 5 minutes you turn the light back on and go again It s filled with action, it s a little bit creepy and there s lots of twists and turns in the story The plotline is right up my alley and it certainly didn t disappoint

    8. I first read about this book when someone else reviewed it on their blog and it sounded fantastic but it wasn t available at BN I left a comment on the blog, hoping the author would soon offer it on the BN site, but he very graciously sent me a copy and I m so glad he did I m officially a fan of Tony Talbot and will be looking for his other books.Dylan was the epitome of a moody, angsty teenager and I should know since I have two of my own He was rude and surly and thought of no one but himself [...]

    9. Very hard to put this book down as I wanted to unravel the mysteries of Eight Mile Island This book has a very unique concept, which in itself is unusual in an age where most sci fi ideas have already been done Actually, I don t know if I would classify this book as sci fi or a thriller Either way, it was excellent I finished it in two days I agree with a previous reviewer that some backstory would have helped to sympathize with the characters Yet, I know from reading Tony Talbot s other book t [...]

    10. A well done, creepy, scary, fast paced thriller that had me on the edge of my seat throughout.Dylan James was a troubled teen with a major bad boy attitude that needed adjusting big time So many times, I wanted to reach through the pages and slap him silly His rude and deplorable treatment of his mother and everyone else around him made me dislike him immensely Then, partway through the book, my negative feelings toward him changed and I found myself experiencing sympathy and respect for him.The [...]

    11. Interesting storyline Confusing at times, but written well enough to hold my attention to the end I will definitely be reading another book by this author.
