    2. I very much enjoyed A Husband for Miss Trent Miss Trent is an on the shelf lady who has spend her life caring for her ailing mother At the age of 29 she is beyond hope of marriage When an invitation to a London ball arrives she knows she can t afford to attend But her family comes together to arrange for her treat During her preparations she meets a Mr Merrit who seems to always be in the right place at the right time to rescue her When he fails to appear at the ball, although she has no real ex [...]

    3. This is a short love story set in a time of the Victorians Product description When a surprising invitation arrives in the post, impoverished spinster Miss Ophelia Trent wants to turn it down With no funds for a new gown or even slippers, she s afraid of becoming the latest laughingstock in Society With her mother s gentle insistence, and a borrowed antique gown, Ophelia decides to take one last chance to find a suitable husband. The ball to which she s been invited is everything she could have d [...]

    4. Miss Ophelia Trent is a spinster in historical English society She has not hopes or prospects for a better life or an offer of marriage that being the definition for a poor lady at that time So he is invited to a big Ball with lots of famous, rich noble people so it would be a perfect opportunity to find a future, to find a husband This is 1811, so don t try to find any feminisism in this story, but I did like the accidents that throw Ophelia and Mr Merritt She wears glasses which explains why s [...]

    5. Miss Trent has missed her come out and has had to think of new ways to live her life An acquaintance sends her ab unexpected invitation to a ball She wants to go but she doesn t see how they can afford it Her mother doesn t want her to miss this chance The book is too short I wanted to get to know the main characters I liked them all It is a good book to read even though I wanted it to go on longer.

    6. I was enjoying this story right up until it ended half way through the supposed 133 pages Much of a short story than an actually novel Content CleanSource download

    7. This was a sweet romance with a likeable heroine But the novella length made it feel rushed and it needed to be fleshed out I didn t read the other books in the series so I felt a little out of the loop. The book was going along fine but the last few pages turned the cheese factor up to 11 It was eye roll inducing The mistaken identity and miraculous recovery were just plain stupid.

    8. I loved this little story it s beautifully written, sweet, and engaging Ophelia Trent, daughter of a baronet, is firmly on the shelf at the advanced age of 29 She unexpectedly receives an invitation from the Duchess of Cay, to a birthday ball Due to the family s straightened financial circumstances, certain measures must be undertaken to allow Ophelia to attend the ball Her mother and older brother, Charles, are determined to see her attend however, and take the necessary steps to ensure that sh [...]

    9. I liked the characters in this book Ophelia is 29 years old and gets an invite from a duchess to attend her dance She is a bit of a country bumpkin and fears being cast upon society After her mother reassures her that they can afford it and she can stay with her cousin she is off to London for three days Shortly there after she encounters Thomas Merrit I found the couple cute and would have liked to see a longer progression between them It just ended so fast and I just would have loved to spend [...]

    10. I have a new pet peeve It s the Lois Lane syndrome where all people have to do is take off their glasses and they become unrecognizable By people that are wildly attracted to them no less The couple meet and are instantly smitten They later attend the same ball Are with the same group of friends Even speak to each other and have no clue that they are with the person they have been hoping to meet all evening Now her I understand She left off her glasses and was blind as a bat without them I was a [...]

    11. read Love Finds Lord Davingdale insteadThis was the first book in this series that I read I have since read 5 others I suggest you read them in order and read Love Finds Lord Davingdale instead of A Husband for Miss Trent Davingdale includes all of the text from this novella plus Davingdale s side of the story This edition also contains synopsis and excerpts from the other novels in the series This series is about a group of men who are a little older than in some of the romances I have read The [...]

    12. This story was so short that I thought maybe I bought just a book of snippets There was no background of the story, not enough character building and no plot with any teeth The book then went into the first chapters of at least six or seven other little short stories There s a very find line between too much unnecessary information and none and this had really none I think the author is good enough to turn each into a good story but I wouldn t recommend these Novellas.

    13. This story was short and sweet And in fact, I found it a sweet short story It was simply written and the ending galloped at a pace, but I enjoyed the storyline I became fond of Ophelia, the bespectacled heroine on the cusp of becoming an old maid Although a baronet s daughter, she had to make do and had very little money for niceties almost like Cinderella She was kind and thoughtful and although the ending was inevitable because of the title, the story made me smile.

    14. New favorite author Stumbled upon this book and DEVOURED it I then discovered an entire series Interesting, well developed characters both good and bad, unique story lines and sparking dialogue make there series my new favorite While seem to be stand alone, l think they would be enjoyable if read in correct order

    15. Wow This was just a wonderful surprise It was like reading an lost unpublished novelette of Jane Austen Traditional clean regency romance After the epilogue there was sample first chapters of the Reluctant Grooms series which this novelette was a coquel heroine POV of Love finds Lord Davingdale.Sensuality content kisses onlySource My personal purchased library.

    16. I m not usually a stickler for absolute historical accuracy but there was just so much off with this I couldn t get past it Pity since it features many tropes I like spinster, mistaken identity, beta hero, etc.At least it was free.

    17. This would have made a cute story had the ending not been so abrupt Apparently it s only 50 odd pages and done at 38% which is possibly why I feel so cheated the story had potential and could ve gone into a lot detail without losing itself.

    18. Enjoyed the comedy of errors aspects of this romance, and that the spinster suddenly has options and how she works through them.

    19. Turned out I had read this before about 5 years ago.obviously not memorable though I thought it well enough for a short book.

    20. Very good storyI really enjoyed this story especially as it was a clean story It was a little rushed at times I look forward to reading by this author.
