    1. This book is a mixed bagE GOOD It s funny Especially the scenes of Marco in class When his teacher gives him lessons all he hears is blah blah blah And when she goes through the days of the week, Marco hears Monday, Tuesday, Chewsday, Chumday, Humday, Doo Dah Day, which will make kids giggle.Marco is also funny when he thinks school is something to eat And 2 2 CAT And the questions he hopes school will teach him the answers to.How much does the moon weigh Do trees think Will I ever ride a giraff [...]

    2. This is the hilarious and adorable story of Marco the bird, who was bored, so his mom sent him to school.Marco gets inspired at school, but not by what the teacher is saying rather, a toy astronomer on the shelf causes him to dream about going to the moon In the process of trying to reach it using building blocks, he makes friends with the other kids, even though he doesn t get to the moon.Discussion I was kind of astounded at the lack of review love for this book, which stems mostly, it seems, [...]

    3. Although I have loads of book reviews over the years, it had slipped my attention that one of my favorite cartoonists, Roz Chasthad illustrated a book for kids, written by Steve MartinThe Alphabet from A to Y With Bonus Letter Z so of course I added that to my personal book collection And when I saw this new one, I ordered it for the library This is definitely for kids and their families who will enjoy an offbeat school story.

    4. This was a nice read Great pace, fun pictures and speech bubbles We liked Marco a lot The story, for me, did not hold together, though Marco was so distracted by his dream of going to the moon, that he could not focus at school He had a silly little plan to get to the moon, recruited help, and the plan was a bust I would have loved to see a solution to the problem, but instead, they all gave up and went out to recess The end I felt unresolved and a little disconnected about what this book was su [...]

    5. We read Too Busy Marco about a year ago, so when I saw this book at our local library, I thought I d check it out It s a fun tale about a bird who goes to school I think it would be a great book to read to a young child who is nervous about starting school. The narrative is simple and the illustrations are colorful and very expressive While this book is a bit too young for our girls, we enjoyed reading it together anyway.

    6. A confusing book about a bird that is bored before his mother makes him go to school Apparently he gets there really early and plays by himself until the other kids and adults get there He has trouble concentrating and his mind wanders and latches onto the idea of being the first bird in space He suffers through naptime until it s playtime and he is finally able to instruct everyone on how to build a tower to the moon. There is really no discussion of a teacher, paying attention, learning lessons [...]

    7. I am not ruining it if I tell you that one of the thoughts swirling through Marco s little bird head is, Why do I like marshmallows so, so much This is one of several things he really, really wants to know Chast is brilliant Marco is the perfect foil for the inanity of School Then again, everybody comes off a little off, which makes this feel like a happy party of human suffering La.

    8. Better than the original Too Busy Marco , Marco s Mom sends him to school or skool as heard by Marco Marco learns that things don t always go the way you wish and that s ok.

    9. Like the main character and his personality, but the story is lacking in its connection between them and plot.

    10. Roz Chast is a treasure This is a funny, sweet story about a bird s first day of school Lots of fun details for grownups Kind of a weak storyline but overall pretty cute.

    11. this book tells how marco goes to school and try different things but at the end, he makes new friend fun to read with new students and first day of school

    12. Marco the bird is eager to start school because he wants to learn how to reach the moon, and although he does not accomplish that on his first day, he does make a new friend.

    13. The newest children s title from New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast The illustrations are wonderful vintage Chast, but the story is a little weird Best line 2 2 Cat.

    14. I love Roz Chast and her cartoons, but I cannot give this book 5 stars.Marco is a talking bird who goes to his first day of school The day had ups and downs From what I remember of kindergarten back in 1965, some of it seems to be similar nap time what self respecting 5 year old takes naps when there is so much to do.For Marco, he would rather get started on his plan to get to the moon.So here is why I can t give 5 stars 1 Marco is a talking bird Which is okay But I just prefer talking rodents I [...]

    15. This was a fun picture book for storytime with my preschooler who is apprehensive about going to Kindergarden The bird going to human school, feeling odd and out of place is relatable His thoughts and expectations are absurd and made my daughter laugh The majn character did not learn all he hoped to at school, but who really does

    16. A confusing little book about a bird whose mind likes to wander Don t know if that was the author s intention, but that was the outcome.

    17. I read this picture book because Roz Chast came to the library system I work at I can relate to the bird being busy and easily distracted.
