    1. I ve liked this author for awhile and not just because we have the same first name, albeit spelled differently She can really describe such a variety of human feelings and viewpoints that I find myself moved by every story Her main characters in the story are all a little out of their element This includes immigrants to both the US and Canada , people and animals displaced by death, marriage or divorce, and those just looking for their place in the world I liked each and every one in this collec [...]

    2. A collection of stories about clashes of race, age, gender, sexual preference, and generation There were some stories that really stood out for me Naina , Fletcher and The Distance Between Us Some of the stories in this book were really touching I loved the variety of places and ethnicities explored in this collection.

    3. A collection of short stories by a very good author I like her novels better much satisfying as a reader as they showcase her talents well Here in this book, she takes on various and varied perspectives skillfully, especially in Only a Button, Naina, The Raghead and The Distance Between Us She shines light on views that are less common or less popular.

    4. Shauna Singh Baldwin amazes me Each story takes the reader somewhere new Kyev, rural Ontario, into the mind of a dog or young bride or a teenager Each story impresses with its depth of understanding of human nature These are beautifully crafted.

    5. Book of short stories which take place in Russia, Toronto, California and various other locales Most of the stories were very good of the ten stories, there were only two that I really didn t care for Good book.

    6. Rather than good or excellent , I would say the book was interesting , though her debut was better than this Still, I feel something less than 5 stars on my parameters would be injustice to her.

    7. I liked only 2 3 stories in the bookMost of them could not keep my interest throughoutDefinitely not one of the better short story books i have read earlier
