    1. The tag for this book said any fan of Stephanie Plum would be sure to enjoy Savannah Martin Well, whoever wrote that has not read Stephanie Plum She and Savannah are worlds apart True, they are each trying to find their place in the world, have crazy family and friends, and a mysterious is he a good guy, is he a bad guy man in their lives, but that s where the similarities end The Stephanie Plum stories are humorous, tightly written, with unexpected twists and turns This story meandered without a [...]

    2. Couldn t get through the first chapter The main character was trashing the weight of another character It wasn t just one comment, it was a bunch Not a character I want to spend a lot of time with.

    3. I was conflicted on how to rate this The mystery was good and kept me turning the pages The writing was ok, but the editing left a bit to be desired Choppy sentences and misused commas But the charactersI m not from the south so maybe I don t understand, but the blatant racism and snobbery was a huge turn off for me The main character s, Savannah, mother refers to someone as colored Savannah s friends from home are in her business and intrusive, and she is plain old snobby and spineless She is [...]

    4. I m not usually one for a cozy mystery, but this one looked entertaining and had been hanging out on my Kobo for a long time, so I gave it a shot. When Savannah Martin is called to show a client a house because a fellow real estate agent and rival didn t make the appointment, she jumps at the chance She doesn t expect that the person calling is a guy she knew in high school, nor does she expect to find her rival dead in the house Savannah decides to do some sleuthing, but the plot thickens when a [...]

    5. What an enjoyable little story I loved the heroine strong yet witty she reminded me of someone I know It has been over twenty years since I walked away from my addiction of romance series I loved romantic trilogies , but I enjoyed this one so much, I am looking for Hot Property because I cant wait to see what happens with Savannah and Rafe Marianne CurtisAuthorFinding GloriaMoondust and Madness A collection of PoetryFinding Gloria Special EditionBehind Whispering PinesBrian s Last Ride

    6. In the well written first book of this cozy mystery series, Savannah has a lot to learn about the real world, but she is well on her way, and a sexy rebel from her past may be just the man to teach her.The man of her mother s dream has divorced Savannah, and she is nearing the end of the money from the settlement The real estate business is pretty cutthroat even within her office, but she needs the money and likes her boss well enough to hang on despite the jerks who work there She has not sold [...]

    7. In this brand new series by Bente Gallagher, we enter the world of real estate and how the business work Savannah Martin, a newbie realtor in Tennessee, is our narrator We learn how she s treated by experienced co workers in the realty business But nothing crushes her spirit We follow her to her first showing on a listing with a client and what happens afterwards We see how she struggles in the business, especially picking up clients, and how her life is turned around Two people from her past sh [...]

    8. I just couldn t get into the main character I found her very unlikeable She seemed to try to hide heavy racism and general snootiness behind a guise of southern upbringing Truthfully I live in the south and while most of us are good people the southern belles with their Mrs degrees and bless his heart criticisms just don t work for me in real life either The two stars, vs one is because of the other characters I did like Rafe, his background story was interesting to me Especially the family stor [...]

    9. It was rather boring, the heroine strange I quite don t understand why she fainted when Rafe tried to kiss her and all the southern belle stuff was annoying than funny Also the fact that Rafe could do math very quickly in his head came out of blue and wasn t explored Besides I didn t understand the secrecy of his occupation it was logical in the first part of the book but I did expect to learn about him by the end of the story All in all, quite a big disappointment Yet there are worse books s [...]

    10. We have a new Sleuth in town who in turn, is a new real estate broker She is learning her way in the business, anxious to show a house, and wham, she is shocked by the client, and the body laying in the house.Off, Savannah goes and we go with her The dialog was amusing, and the mystery was a solid one You quickly care about the characters and by the ending, you want to see where and what Savannah gets to go next.A very good book.

    11. Here s what I liked Savannah herself She s not following the family line, and it seems to work for her Rafe yum Nashville as a setting Dix, who might grow into a decent character What I didn t like implied racism as story device Todd, who I wanted to smack for his controlling ways Tim, who practically screams stereotype And the police detective too easily swayed by a civilian It was free, but I won t read any of the series Too much I didn t like.

    13. I guess about a 2.5 would be right for this one It was okay The romantic elements were not as annoying in this book as they often are, but the wrongly placed commas just ruined it for me Also sometimes the character was just a little too stupid She is ordered to tell nobody about something but tells two people in very short time.

    14. Loved this book This is the 1st book in the Savannah Martin series I couldn t put it down It has everything I love in a cozy mystery interesting likeable characters, an intriguing but not intense mystery, and a little romance The pace of the story is quick moving but not repetitive or whiny Savannah is a realtor and gets a call to meet a potential client because the realtor didn t show up To Savannah s surprise, the client is Rafe, a guy who went to her high school When they arrive, they find th [...]

    15. This is the first book in a new series by Jenna Bennett It was a really exciting cozy mystery Savannah is a new Realtor who is trying to acquire clients She is working Sat morning when she gets a call another Realtor.missed an appointment to show a house She meets Rafe Collier, an old school acquaintance who was in prison in his youth Not someone her snooty mother would want her to spend time with They find the Realtor dead What happened to her and why Savannah decides to find out There are some [...]

    16. Like Stephanie Plum Not exactly Not as good But it did serve the same purpose as a Stephanie Plum book in that it was a light, quick read that kept me turning pages After the last couple books I read I needed a breather I have the first three books of hers and I will read them as well So it s good enough for me to continue even if it is not close to Stephanie Plum Come on Janet Evanovich I m really for another

    17. A Cutthroat Business is a cute and fun little whodunit Yes, the characters are somewhat caricaturish and stereotypical, but when taken with a grain of salt rather than as an actual, 100% faithful, portrayal of the South, it can be quite entertaining The flow and pace are fairly good, making it a fast and easy read.

    18. A Cutthroat Cozy MysteryA Cutthroat Business a Savannah Martin cozy mystery What would I call this genre A Cozy Mystery with a good portion of humor and bit of edgy romantic touch and go romance very little touching, a lot of quick removals from any possibility of such Funny Lite reading Entertainment.

    19. If you love Evanovich s Stefanie Plum novels, you ll love Bennett s Savannah Martin books Similar lead character, similar good boy bad boy love interests Joe Vs Ranger and Todd Vs Rafe and a a murder to solve I really enjoyed the characters in Cutthroat a fun, light read to take your mind off day to day stresses.

    20. I would have rated it a 3 except I was so irritated every time the author brought up DNA evidence No DNA tests come back that quickly, and to identify, they have to be tested against known subjects DNA I hardly think the police obtained DNA from all the family members, coworkers, etc and had all these tests run by the day or so after the first murder Fingerprints, maybe, but not DNA.

    21. This book took me a long time to read When I started I was in the middle of moving then working and doing my crafts That however forsaken mean it wasn t a enjoyable read No quit the opposite because when I did have time it was a wonderful book Great story if you like suspenses day a who done it kind a book then I highly recommend you reading this book

    22. I really enjoyed this light murder mystery Characters are easy to follow and interesting Nicely descriptive just right for seeing the story in true form The development of the relationships keeps me thinking of what s to come and looking forward to when I can pick up the book again I have since purchased 2 9 in the series and am currently reading 5 Haven t been disappointed yet

    23. Humorous and catchingIf you like Stephanie Plum, you ll enjoy Savannah Martin mysteries As with Stephanie, don t expect high tech heroes, but down to earth mystery solvers who resolve the crimes through deduction and mistakes Enjoyable characters Recommended.

    24. Oh my I do believe I now have a favorite series I don t appreciate the price but what are you going to do I truly enjoyed Book 1 and have already downloaded 2 Can t wait to see how Savannah if going to grow as a realtor And her and Rafe, HOT Thank you

    25. I thoroughly enjoyed Savannah s sense of humor, her practicality, and street smarts while reading this book Her side comments to the reader are a treat This is a true mystery with a definite nasty twist here and there Worth your time

    26. Really fun read Interesting story line, colorful characters and lots of Southern charm Oh, and did I mention the tall, dark, and handsome man
