The plot, characters, and setting all worked together to make this book a good read Having been part of the racetrack crowd and having lived in Charles Town, WV, many years ago, I found the descriptions of the area, the track, and the business of racing rang true Meeks is obviously someone who has been a part of this scene Although there are a lot of decent people in racing, there really are unsavory characters like the ones depicted in the book who care for nothing but the bottom line and will [...]

A fast paced thriller mixed with a particularly sweet romance Both Bogey and Becky were full of character, and I also liked that the horses were as full of character as the humans Well, horses are My only criticism was that Meeks failed to write The End I would have been happy to read on, and looked for , even though it was a perfectly suitable ending 4 stars instead if 5 only because definitions are severe than etc It was not quite amazing maybe, but I liked it very much indeed And buy this on [...]

    3. A great story of life on the racetrack with all the trials and tribulations that can happen when you have an unscrupulous owner who will do anything to get what he wants and the consequences that happen because of that Great description of horse races.
